Fayette County Schools deploy PRO-Techs Technology
Fayette County Schools decided to partner with PRO-Techs to provide an extra layer of protection to all schools throughout the district. PRO-Techs is a breakthrough antimicrobial 24/7 surface protection nanotechnology registered with the EPA. PRO-Techs creates a 99% effective barrier shield for up to 90 days to prevent the growth of germs and microorganisms on both porous and non-porous.
“It was important for us to find a way to conduct face-to-face instruction with as many students as possible while maintaining high standards of health and safety for students and staff,” said Tim Payton, Director of Operations. “We did not want to completely close our schools like we had to when this pandemic began. We initially applied PRO-Techs to our operational offices with effective reduction of germs and bacteria on all surfaces, and we then decided to scale across the entire county schools. With the success observed from PRO-Techs application in terms of germ protection despite the presence of students interacting with multiple surfaces throughout the day, we decided to continue with further reapplication for year 2021.”
PRO-Techs works by bonding to the surface due to its organo-silane base coupled with its positively charged nitrogen at the center and its 18 carbon-chain bed of “nano-swords” at the top, it prevents the growth of microorganisms and germs on any given surface. PRO-Techs Technology is also an environmentally GREEN water-based surface coating that is non-toxic and safe for use around children and pets, and it is registered under the EPA with approval for use on food surface contact; a major differentiation in the marketplace.
Fayette County Schools have approximately 6,000 students in 13 schools with 20 buildings totaling more than 1.1M sq. ft. The school district custodial department has reapplied PRO-Tech every 90 days from the beginning of schools opening in August 2020 to work in conjunction with current cleaning protocols. Valuable instructional time has been saved by not having to clean and disinfect with harsh chemicals after every class. The application includes all interior spaces such as classrooms, meeting rooms, admin offices, cafeteria, gymnasium, and exterior spaces in addition to high-touch surfaces and all school buses.
“We are pleased that Fayette County Schools has decided to continue in 2021 with disinfecting and protecting the entire county school facilities with PRO-Techs technology towards ensuring high level of safety and well-being to students, instructors, custodial services team and their facilities,” said Danny Tawil, COO of PRO-Techs. “We look forward to continued support to the School Leadership in its ongoing commitment to protect its school from germs, bacteria and viruses.”
“PRO-Techs microbe-kill mechanism is physical, not chemical, unlike usual and customary disinfectants” said Dr. Sanford Benjamin, MD and previous Head of Infection Disease Committee at Atrium Hospitals. “The PRO-Techs kill process is electrocution at the point of microbe contact with the surface. Microbe death is instantaneous. No microbe can survive electrocution. There is no transfer of energy with electrocution, thus the kill process continues unabated for months. Further PRO-Techs is extremely safe around kids as it’s non-toxic, non-allergenic, non-polluting, odorless, and colorless, unlike traditional disinfectants which contain high level of toxicity that can be extremely dangerous around children when administered daily.”
PRO-Techs is a breakthrough EPA registered instant and lasting antimicrobial surface protection nanotechnology that works 24/7 in creating a barrier shield that has a 99.9% effectiveness in preventing the growth of germs and microorganisms on both porous and non-porous surfaces, with a durability of up to 90-days. PRO-Techs Technology is an environmentally GREEN water-based surface coating that is non-toxic, non-polluting, non-leaching, non-flammable, non-allergenic, non-irritating, odorless, colorless, and safe for use around children and pets. Furthermore, PRO-Techs is registered under the EPA with approval for use on food surface contact; a major differentiation in the marketplace. When PRO-Techs is applied, it erases the microbial footprint from every person entering and leaving the premise within minutes.
